The sun is the ultimate renewable energy source. Every day for about ten billion years, the sun has poured out unimaginable amounts of energy. The Earth, orbiting at a distance of 150 million the sun, intercepts a tiny fraction of this solar output. At the Earth's surface, incoming energy from the sun is absorbed by the land, water and atmosphere, and converted into measureable heat. This heat acts like a giant engine, creating winds and currents in our atmosphere, oceans, and rivers.
Most of the sun’s energy is emitted as visible light. To harness the sun as a source of energy, we need to convert it from visible light into heat or electricity.

Hot Water
PalSolar offers solar systems for domestic hot water at various scales whether for individual home owners, hospitality, or industrial applications. Domestic hot water solar systems can be integrated with other services, or isolated for domestic hot water only.
Small residential applications
For small residential applications, "solar water heaters" and, most suitable and available in various sizes and configurations, is an efficient standalone automated system that comes with the following features:

• Flat Plat or Evacuated Tube Solar Collectors
• Cylindrical (Heat) Storage Tank
• Backup Heating Element
• Control Device
• Circulating Pump

Solar water heater models can serve both pressurized and non-pressurized systems, and can be custom designed into the architectural design of the buildings. It is noted that in the GCC countries, solar water heaters can provide immediate payback since installed cost is lower than conventional type electric water heaters.

Large Applications
For larger applications, such as villa's, commercial or industrial applications, PalSolar designs and installs larger solar collector fields that are integrated with conventional domestic hot water supply systems, and other thermal applications such as space or swimming pool heating.

Among the projects has implemented are hot water applications for hotels, residential complexes, labor camps, and factories whereby as much as 250,000 L of hot water were delivered per day.

Swimming Pool Heating
PalSolar provides solar heating projects for indoor and outdoor swimming pools during summer and winter season. Solar system design is customized depending on the pool size and layout, as well as the customer heating needs and expectations.Solar heating can serve purpose 100% in the summer and partially in the winter.
PalSolar has implemented small and large pool heating projects, many of which are integrated with space and domestic water heating.
Among the projects implemented is the largest winter-heated outdoor swimming pool in the world - located in Saudi Arabia. Villa owners, schools and hospitality sector clients also benefit from solar pool heating with significant savings experienced throughout the year.

Industrial Steam
Concentrated solar collectors are used to achieve temperatures of 100 Deg C to 350 Deg C depending on the collector type. Medium temperature steam is achievable through a variety of collector technologies to support industrial and commercial needs.
Concentrated solar collectors provide direct steam generation or provide heat to a heat exchange utilizing a heat transfer fluid, providing customers with significant fuel savings depending on the nature of their operation and the space available for the collector field that can be roof or ground mounted.

Solar Power
Two forms of solar power are viable; photovoltaic that converts the sun's energy directly into electricity and concentrated solar power that utilizes solar thermal energy to drive steam (electricity) turbines. Both technologies have their advantages and disadvantages and PalSolar is well positioned to assist customers in analyzing and sourcing the optimal design configuration.

Concentrated solar power System (CSP)
PalSolar offer an integrated CSP package, from the design & consultation stage right through to installation and performance monitoring for the commercial, industrial and public sectors.
CSP plants produce electric power by converting the sun's energy into high-temperature heat using various mirror configurations. The heat is then channelled through a conventional generator. The plants consist of two parts: one that collects solar energy and converts it to heat, and another that converts heat energy to electricity.
